About Raeesa Studio Nikah Certificates

Are these valid Muslim marriage contracts?

Yes. Raeesa Studio nikah certificates hold Islamic validity as Sharia compliant Muslim marriage contracts provided that the Mahr is stated on the certificate. You have the flexibility to personalize the Mahr directly on our website once you have selected your preferred design.

It is entirely up to you whether or not you wish to include the Mahr on the certificate. Opting to keep the certificate as a cherished keepsake without the Mahr is also a viable choice.

Raeesa Studio nikah contracts have been evaluated by recognized marriage officiants in Canada. These certificates have been signed by numerous couples worldwide, including those in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and various European and Asian countries, at their nikah ceremonies.

It is important to note that while our nikah certificates hold Islamic validity as Muslim marriage contracts, they do not serve as official government documents. It remains your responsibility to complete the official registration of your marriage with the appropriate local government authorities.

What is Mahr?

Mahr/Mehr is a gift or amount the groom must give to bride during the nikah process.

Your nikah certificate is valid if the Mahr is included, but you can opt to leave it out and use the certificate as a keepsake instead.

What text will be on my certificate?

View our certificate text here. Raeesa Studio nikah certificate texts have been approved by Islamic scholars and are applicable to all sects. All certificates include hand-composed Arabic calligraphy of the basmala with Surah Ar-Rum and translation at the top.

You can request for changes to the text, on the “text changes” section on the order form after choosing a design.

Where can I add conditions to the marriage contract?

Once you've selected a design, you have the option to include additional pages for your marriage conditions. Each page can accommodate up to 5 conditions and will match the design and embellishments of your certificate.

After choosing a design, select “Marriage Conditions” on the order form under the extra customization section.

Alternatively, we've collaborated with the Canadian Council of Muslim Women, who have designed a marriage contract available for free download and use. Check it out here.

What if I need to make a change to my order after it has been placed?

Please email us promptly. If your certificate is already in production, no changes can be made. If needed, a new certificate can be created for a fee.

Upon placing your order, you will promptly receive an email containing an order confirmation. This email will include the information you supplied in the order form. We kindly request that you carefully review the details to confirm their accuracy. If you happen to identify any inaccuracies requiring correction, we urge you to contact us without delay. It's important to note that we cannot guarantee modifications after a 24-hour period has passed.

Will I get to see a preview of my certificate?

We will only send a text preview if you chose an extra customization (such as further text changes, color changes, or couple’s crest, etc), non-English language text OR if you request for a preview when you place your order. To request for a preview, please write “send me a preview” in the notes section of the order form. If you do not ask for a preview, we will work quickly to get your order dispatched. Rest assured, we will precisely include the information you submitted on your order form. For fast dispatch, we recommend not opting for the preview.

Timeline for Previews: If you request for a preview, expect to receive it via email within 1-2 business days. For orders with extra customization, expect to receive it via email within 3-5 business days. Should further edits be necessary, a revised preview will be sent via email within 1-2 business days. Once you approve the final text, please allow an additional 4-5 business days for us to create your certificate before dispatching it for shipping.

Requesting for a preview may cause the processing time to be longer before dispatch, especially, if you have further edits. It is your responsibility to promptly reply to our emails or accommodate for expedited shipping if needed.

Due to copyright restrictions, the border design is not included in the preview unless you have opted for an extra customization of a color change.

Can my officiant see a preview?

Yes. If you wish for your officiant or mosque to review the certificate, please specify this request in the notes section when placing your order or send us an email.

Please note that Raeesa Studio Nikah Certificate text has been approved, read, and signed by known Muslim scholars and approved officiants all around the world.

How are your nikah certificates designed?

Our nikah certificates are designed by our in-house designer, Sana, who has over a decade of experience in graphic design specializing in the print industry and a passion for Islamic art. Our certificates are original prints and protected under copyright.

Feel free to contact us to get in touch with our designer directly.

Are your contracts hand-made?

Our designs begin with hand sketches and are then refined digitally before being printed on museum-grade paper. Contracts with gold or silver embellishments are carefully finished by hand.

What type of paper do you use?

Our certificates are printed on thick archival paper, renowned for its use by fine art artists worldwide. Our paper is textured for a premium feel.

What type of ink do you use?

We use ultra-high quality, archival aqueous, pigment based ink that are designed specifically for precise color graphics.

What calligraphy will be on my certificate?

Every nikah certificate showcases handcrafted Arabic calligraphy featuring a portion of Surah Ar-Rum. This calligraphy was meticulously created by our skilled calligrapher in Turkey and then digitally transferred to our contract templates. If you would like the full Arabic ayah used or a different English translation instead, please add this on the note section of the order form after you choose a design.

Read more about our calligraphy here.

Can we leave the “date”, “location” or “mahr” blank and fill this by hand?

Yes, you can request this in the
notes section of the order form when you are placing an order.

What customization options are available?

Our standard customization options include adding the names of the groom and bride, along with the date, location, mahr, and signature areas. You can also choose the order in which the groom or bride's name appears, select different fonts for the couple's names, and specify the number of witnesses. We are continuously expanding our range of customization choices!

For extra customization, you have the option to add a couple's crest, make text adjustments, change colors, add extra marriage condition pages, and more. You can explore all the customization choices once you've selected a design.

What is the couple’s crest?

The couple’s crest is a unique emblem exclusive to Raeesa Studio nikah certificates and wedding products. Our calligrapher will create a beautiful crest featuring the groom and bride's first names in Arabic.

Choose the option when you are filling out the order form when placing an order.

Can I change parts of the design?

We can change parts of our design for a fee. Please email us at info@raeesastudio.com with the date of nikah, shipping address, and design you would like changed.

I don’t know the Islamic date for my nikah, what do I do?

If you're completing the order form and are unsure of the Islamic date, you can leave it blank, and we will fill it in for you using our references.

The Islamic/Hijri calendar is lunar based, hence, the exact date may not be accurate until the start of that month. However, the dates may be estimated using various sources. Keep in mind, if your nikah is after Magrib, that will count as the next day.

Alternatively, you can obtain the Islamic date from your local mosque, Imam, Officiant, or online sources if you prefer to provide it.

How will I receive my contract?

To ensure safe shipping, your
contract will be placed inside a sturdy shipping tube that is rolled
up. If you have ordered a frame or bundle, they will either be
shipped together in one box or you will receive the frame in a
separate box.

How do I unroll my contract?

To ensure the contract remains in pristine condition during transit, it is initially rolled up. Upon receiving it, please lay it face down and apply substantial weight such as a laptop, books, or similar items to allow it to unfurl. Do not bend it in the opposite direction to flatten it out. We suggest you give it a few days to unravel. If you have ordered a frame, you can also place the contract directly inside the frame to flatten.

When do I sign the contract?

Typically, most couples hand over the marriage certificate to the officiant at the start of the ceremony, allowing for the signing of all necessary documents in unison. You have the choice to follow this tradition or alternatively sign the certificate towards the end of the ceremony.

If you've selected the option for only the bride and groom to sign, you can choose to do so at your convenience. Many couples have chosen to sign their certificates during receptions or even at anniversary celebrations.
